Changing an Order’s Status in VESYL

How to manually update an order’s status for better workflow control

Updated yesterday

VESYL’s Order Management tool is built for flexibility—so whether you’re rerouting an order, cleaning up your workflow, or managing edge cases, you can easily change an order’s status at any time.

Updating order statuses helps you:

  • Keep your fulfillment queue accurate and up to date

  • Visually separate orders by priority, progress, or special handling

  • Support operational processes like batch printing, exception management, and more

How to Change an Order’s Status

  1. Navigate to the Orders Page
From the main VESYL dashboard, go to the Orders tab.

  2. Locate and Edit the Order
Find the order you’d like to update. Click “Edit” to open the order drawer on the right side of your screen.

The order management dashboard with the edit button on the order highlighted

  3. Scroll to the “Change Status” Field
In the order drawer, scroll down to the “Change Status” section.

The edit order tab with the change status option at the bottom

  4. Select the New Status
Choose the status you want to move the order into from the dropdown list.

    Available statuses may include:

    • New – Orders just imported or awaiting action

    • Ready to Ship – Orders ready for label creation

    • Shipped – For orders that have been fulfilled

    • On Hold – If action is paused due to stock or customer issues

    • Archived – For canceled, test, or completed orders no longer in the active workflow

  5. Click Save
Be sure to hit Save to confirm the update.

Status changes take effect immediately and help drive automation rules, filter views, and batch actions across your workflow.

Pro Tip: Use Status + Tags for Smarter Order Management

Pairing order statuses with custom tags gives you powerful control over your workflow. For example:

  • Use the “On Hold” status and tag orders with “Awaiting Inventory”

  • Move urgent orders to “Ready to Ship” and tag them “Expedite”

  • Archive test orders and tag them “Internal Use”

VESYL makes it easy to filter and batch process based on both tags and statuses, helping your team stay organized at any scale.
